The <hgroup> Tag

The <hgroup> tag represents the heading of a section or a document. It can be referred as a form of title that outlines the document which it belongs to.

The hgroup tag is used to group a set of headers, <h1> to <h6> elements, when the heading has multiple headings.

The header tags <h1> to <h6> are grouped using this tag which places the largest as the main heading for that section in the document.

Example code:

<html>
  <body>
    <hgroup>
      <h1>The HTML5 Tags</h1>
      <h3>HTML 5 is the next generation of language for the net</h3>
    </hgroup>
  </body>
</html>
